A breath of fresh air with our new team…

Hi Blackwoodians,
What a busy couple of months it has been. Firstly, it is timely to congratulate Sam Rae, our newly-elected member of Federal Parliament. It would be great if we get to hear from you in our next edition, Sam.
I would also like to say a HUGE thank you to Jinny and Brendan for the countless hours of work they have put in to keep The Blackwood Times running for us all for so many years. You will remember in the last edition that Jinny explained that they are stepping away from the paper and are handing over to a new team of volunteers. The knowledge and support they are so generously providing to us newbies is incredible and will ensure that we will have half an idea of what we are doing by the time they finish up all together at the end of the year. As part of this change there is no longer a single editor, but instead the team will be working together to fulfil all relevant duties. You will get to know the various new players as we take it in turns writing something for the “editors thoughts…..”

In this edition we are very excited about celebrating the return of events to our lives and to our fantastic little town. The Easter Carnival was an incredible success with some amazing photos capturing the fun. A shout out must also go to Deidre for organising an hugely successful Biggest Morning Tea, raising much needed funds to support people living with cancer.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us with anything you may like to contribute at the team@theblackwoodtimes.com.au email address. We would love to hear your ideas!

Did you know that every issue of The Blackwood Times is in the National edeposit (NED) library, which is a collaboration between Australia’s 9 national, state & territory libraries, responding to the major challenge of capturing & preserving the digital documentary history of Australia for the future. We also have copies of most issues, so if you want a backcopy these are available by donation.

Please remember we rely on your content. If you would like deadline reminders, simply sign-up to our list to the right of this article.

The landline number has now been cut off. We have a new phone number – 0491 061 717. We got a great deal with BetterLife.com.au who even gave us our first 3 months free. They have been a great company to work with – you speak to real people on the phone, I highly recommend them.
