What an amazing Summer and early Autumn we have had! I think I have reached for a jumper only a handful of times in recent months which is definitely a first for me since moving to Blackwood. With the heat comes an increased fire risk so a huge shout to all of our fabulous CFA volunteers who have been fast to respond where necessary in the local area, as well as assisting their colleagues with some of the larger fires across the state. As always there has been so much going on in our amazing little town. In this issue we look at several live music events, a trivia night, Satsang, a whole town garage sale and a Gold Panning Championship, as well as bringing you all of the regular features you have grown used to in The Blackwood Times.

Well done Jerry, Jess, John and Natalie on a great first couple of months in the newly renovated pub. There has been a fantastic energy around the place and it is great to see so many new visitors to our town enjoying what we lucky locals have at our doorstep.

It’s also been great to see the Post Office go from strength to strength with its incredible new space and we are very much looking forward to fish and chip Thursdays coming our way soon!

Don’t forget that we are always keen to hear your stories and see your photos. If you would like to share something with the town, or even join our small friendly team, please don’t hesitate to reach out to team@theblackwoodtimes.com.au We also love seeing the Times get out and about so if you are heading away on a holiday take a copy with you and send us a photo of you reading it while on your adventures.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the carnival!
