Welcome to 2024.

It’s been a nice wet start to the year and Don’s weather update has certainly been showing us all how much rain we have been having! By the way, if you don’t know, Don has been providing the rainfall for the area for quite some time on a device he made himself. There will be more on this in the next issue. I’m sure many of you have been busy mowing the grass, as I have. It’s just gone
crazy, but the constant mowing has made me think how lucky we are to be in an area that’s large enough for many outdoor activities.

Often when I am outside on the ride-on mower my two boys are doing their jobs as well. This is a great training ground for children, and I appreciate the safe environment our area provides.

In this issue Ricky Acevdeo wrote about walking in Blackwood and some of his favourite trails. Don’t forget with each issue we give out one $10 voucher for spending at the Post Office for an author under 18years old.

Thanks to all those who contribute to The Times with articles and photos. A special mention to Peter Donnelly who attends many Blackwood events and uses his good photographic skills. The team compiling the Times are all volunteers and you’d be surprised how much effort is involved in putting each issue together. Until next issue…
