Did I hear things were going to improve in 2022?
Here we are with another COVID issue. The past 2 years have been really hard on our tiny team of 3. With no events & no real happenings we have still managed to scrape together fun issues.
When we started to put this issue together I mentioned to Bren that I’d really like to do a fun front cover to brighten up our days – so we arranged a novelty news item. My, it was fun, I hope it gives you a giggle.
To continue to be published we need people. We do not create content, our role is to collate your stories into a publication. To that end, please read my article to the left & contact me if you would like to know more.
Meeting at the office at the hall on Thursday Feb 24 2 6.30pm.

Did you know that every issue of The Blackwood Times is in the National edeposit (NED) library, which is a collaboration between Australia’s 9 national, state & territory libraries, responding to the major challenge of capturing & preserving the digital documentary history of Australia for the future. We also have copies of most issues, so if you want a backcopy these are available by donation.
Please remember we rely on your content. If you would like deadline reminders, simply sign-up to our list to the right of this article.
The landline number has now been cut off. We have a new phone number – 0491 061 717. We got a great deal with BetterLife.com.au who even gave us our first 3 months free. They have been a great company to work with – you speak to real people on the phone, I highly recommend them.
Download the February March 2022 issue of the Blackwood Times (.pdf 3.9mb) or next week Pick up a hard copy from any of our usual venues, we will get them distributed as soon as we can.

Hi there. My late mother-in-law used to own the cottage (weekender) up the hill next to the church from, I believe, the 1960’s till she passed in early 1980s. Our family of 2 boys spent quite a fair bit of time there when they were young.
Perhaps you could field past visitors/’residents’ to post something of their past experience there?
I could do a piece too. My oldest son is now 50 and he still remember his times spent there esp at the river & mineral springs.
